Chinese Acrobats Perform at CMJH

November 27, 2006- The Cougar Mountain Junior HIgh ASB sponsored an assembly featuring performances by Chinese Acrobats. The Chinese Acrobats, a touring group who has performed all over the United States, performed at two separate assemblies on November 22. One assembly was held for all seventh grade students and one assembly was held for all eighth and ninth graders.
Four Chinese Acrobats performed several acts. One performer juggled giant flower pots as well as straw hats. A contortionist performed an unbelievable routine bending and contorting her body. The final performer spun ten plates on the ends of long poles all at once. In between acts, one of the Chinese performers explained the history behind acrobatics in Chinese culture.
The audience of students and staff cheered throughout the performances. Austin Kieff, an eighth grade student at CMJH said, "It was very cool and interesting. I especially enjoyed the performer who juggled and flipped the giant flower pot."
