"Meet the Teachers Night" a Success!

October 25, 2006- Cougar Mountain Junior High held "Meet the Teacher Night" on Tuesday, October 24. The event began at 5:30 PM, when parents, staff, students, and community members were welcomed to a BBQ. Hot dogs, chips, and refreshments were provided. Dean of Students, Tom Gifford, did all the BBQ for the event. The CMJH band and orchestra played during the hour long meal. The PTSA set up a booth to recruit new members and share information. Parents also had the opportunity to sign up for Family Access, purchase items from the Book Fair in the library, and view a display for the Science/Astronomy Club.

From 6:30 to 7:30 PM parents spent time visiting classrooms and meeting teachers. This provided parents with an opportunity to get to know their children's teachers, to discuss the content and direction of individual classes, and to check on the progress of their children.

Cougar Mountain Principal, Cliff Anderson was very pleased with the event. He stated, "It doesn't get any better than this--over three hundred parents came last night to our annual "Meet the Teacher's Night" at CMJH. The PTSA had a great night signing up new members (over 100) and the hot dogs and chips were a big hit. Thank you Chef Gifford. A big thanks to the group of teachers and classified staff that participated."
