Girls Track Team Takes Home Championship

May 29, 2007 - The Cougar Mountain girls track team finished their season undefeated with a perfect record (6 wins 0 losses). They also finished first in the conference meet.

Cougar Mountain had 9 individual conference champions: Lauren Hoskie (100 Meters - 12.53), Lauren Hoskie (200 Meters - 25.9 - School Record), Lauren Hoskie (400 Meters - 1:00.05 - School Record), Jordan McCann (800 Meters - 2:28.44 - School Record), Shelby Williams (Shot Put - 32 Feet, 6 inches - School Record), Shelby Williams (Triple Jump - 317.5 inches - School Record), Lauren Hoskie, Miranda Gibson, Jordan McCann, and Jonnie Acosta (4x400 Relay - 4:24.07 - School Record), Aurora Vasquez (High Jump - 4 feet, 9 inches - School Record), and Shae-Lynn Johnson, Shelby Williams, Emily McFadden, and Jonnie Acosta (4x200 Relay - 1:55).

CMJH head girls track coach, Mr. Al Barnes said, "They are a very talented, hard working group of athletes."

The CMJH boys track team finished second in league with a record of 5 and 1. They placed third in the district conference meet. Cougar Mountain Boys Track had three conference champions: Grant Schwallie, Jesse Kuwik, Joe Weed, and Jordan Sherwood (4x200 Relay - 1:37.50 - School Record), Jordan Sherwood, Jack Pence, Colin Nelson, and Dylan Fletcher (4x100 - 47.82 - School Record), and Jesse Kuwik (Triple Jump - 37 feet, 7 inches)
