Windstorm Causes School Closure
December 15, 2006- All around the Western Washington, school districts were closed because of power outages due to a powerful windstorm that knocked down trees and power lines. Wind gust up to 70 miles per hour swept through Western Washington. Cougar Mountain lost power during a home wrestling match and was forced to cancel the match and the scheduled Choir and Orchestra performance.
The Bethel School District cancelled school the following day because many schools did not have power.
The cancelled school days will be made up later in the school year.
