Choir and Orchestra Perform at Winter Concert

December 7, 2005- The Cougar Mountain Junior High Choir and Orchestra preformed a winter concert on the evening of December 6th in the CMJH Commons. Over 500 people attended the festive event.

The Choir, under the directions of teacher Hannah Blackburn, sang a number of Christmas tunes including: A Snowy Evening, Hush, My Babe, Winter Wonderland of Snow, Jingle Bell Rock, Blue Christmas, and Silent Night.

With regards to the choir's performance, Ms. Blackburn said, "I am proud of a job well done. They were excellent."

The Cougar Mountain Orchestra was directed by their teacher, Shari Leavens. The Orchestra also performed several Christmas numbers including: Baroque Encounter, Fantasy on Amazing Grace, and Christmas Quatrain.

Principal Cliff Anderson was impressed with the performance and conduct of the students who participated. "It was an outstanding turnout. The choirs were fantastic and the orchestra was great. I was very impressed with the parent support."

Mr. Anderson also would like to thank Mrs. Brocato, Mr. McCann, Mr. Stumpf, Mr. Russell, Ms. Mayne, and Mr. Womack for their help assisting parents and other community members with parking.

Mrs. McCann volunteered her time and sold over 40 buckets of Cougar Mountain Cookie Dough to raise money for the Orchestra and Choir Programs.

Thank you to all involved. Nicely done.
