CMJH Students Donate Food to Those in Need
November 22, 2005- Cougar Mountain students donated over 900 canned food items during a week long food drive. The Cougar Mountain Family Community Career Leaders of America (FCCLA) Club and the Leadership class helped to organized this charitable event. The items will be distributed to families in need during this holiday season.
Students brought canned food items to their sixth period classes and competed against other classes. Mr. Womack's class collected the most items with 132, followed by Mrs. Blevin's class (125), Mr. Craig's class (116), and Mr. Mensonides' class (97). Mr. Womack's and Mrs. Blevin's classes received a small treat for their efforts.
CMJH also competed with Bethel Junior High in the event and came up a little short in the competition. Bethel collected over 2,000 items. Mrs. Hamilton, the FCCLA advisor, was quick to point out, "It is not the quantity of items, but rather the quality of kids going out of their way to help other people."
Thank you to all who contributed.
