Before you begin cooking, assembling, and measuring all the ingredients you need, read the recipe thoroughly and make sure you have all the kitchen utensils required for the entree. You can certainly get soup from a pot to a bowl without a ladle, but it's amazing how much easier the task is with one hand. That's the case with most kitchen gadgets. In general, having the right tool can make cooking more efficient and enjoyable.

How to care for kitchen utensils: 1. Wash kitchen utensils with very warm or hot water and dish detergent. Bleach and hot water sanitizes utensils the best and gets rid of germs and bacteria. 2. Use the correct scrubbing instrument. Teflon needs to be cleaned with a soft wash cloth or sponge. Stainless steel or aluminum can be clean with a scouring brush or sponge. 3. Air drying is best. 4. Store utensils in a container on the kitchen counter or in a utensils drawer. 5. Always rinse off kitchen utensils before using to get off any dust collected from non-use. 6. Always use rubber or plastic kitchen utensils with teflon cookware. If metal utensils are used, teflon will begin to chip off and be mixed in with the food item.
